The biggest celebration of Children’s Day in Prague 9, held in the nursery in Kovářská Street, was met with great interest by both children themselves and their parents. Nearly two hundred visitors enjoyed a party with an entertaining programme and lots of delicious meals. For a second time the main sponsor of the event was the nearby Clarion Congress Hotel at Vysočany, who offered visiting children refreshment stations with cotton candy, pancakes and ice cream. Adults could enjoy poultry goulash and hot coffee.
“I am very glad we can support the Children’s Day again and prepare a pleasant afternoon for children and adults. At least people can see that we not only have a lot to offer the ice hockey teams who were accommodated in our hotel in the course of the championship, but also to the youngest of visitors”, said Miroslav Bukva, managing director of Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, who welcomed the visitors together with the headmistress of the nursery Ingrid Finková. “The weather is better than last year. Our plans were only thwarted a little by chickenpox forcing many children to stay in bed today. Otherwise the event was excellent and those who did come greatly enjoyed themselves. We are looking forward to next year”, added Finková. The entertaining programme included a show by the Laughter Cabaret ensemble, children’s theatre and competitions including sweet muffin decoration. Clarion Congress Hotel Prague regularly supports corporate responsibility projects. For example the hotel staff annually take part in the volunteer day called Engage Day, and further in the reconstruction of the Lesníček environmental nursery in Toulcův dvůr and Klokánek in Prague 9. The hotel is also engaged in long-term cooperation with the Alfa Human Service educational institution, which focuses on support for families with handicapped children. Another event, held since 2011, is Baking with Clarion for parentless children, held in cooperation with the non-profit organisation Chance 4 Children.
