Clarion Congress Hotel Prague has been in operation for 10 years and now it’s time for plenty of improvements. The works are carefully scheduled in order to limit to the minimum the negative impact on the comfort of the hotel guests and on the hotel operation.
We have already renovated the toilets and started refurbishment of the lobby. The renovated food court in the adjacent Shopping Mall Fénix will be opened in March; the new design of the reception area and lobby bar will be unveiled to you during the spring 2018.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, which is part of the portfolio of the largest Czech hotel company, CPI Hotels, organised the “Den v růžovém - Day in pink” party for its business partners, which included the biggest tasting of rosé wines and sparkling wines in the Czech Republic. More than 120 wine samples entered in the specialised Jarovín Rosé competition were available for tasting. The acclaimed catering of Clarion Congress Hotel Prague head chef Miroslav Soukup, many competitions and a raffle for valuable prizes also awaited the almost three hundred guests who attended the event stylishly dressed in pink. The prizes were presented to the lucky winners by Clarion Hotel Director Miroslav Bukva.

The Vysočany Clarion Congress Hotel Prague has for the second time supported the MARS – 24-hour MAraton s Roztroušenou Sklerózou (Marathon with Multiple Sclerosis). The sixth year of the non-stop physical training event to help people afflicted by multiple sclerosis took place from 3 – 4 March 2017 in Prague and another almost 30 Bohemian and Moravian towns. The objective of the marathon’s information campaigns is to draw attention to the issue of the disease itself as well as highlight the importance of physical exercise and a healthy lifestyle for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, which is part of the portfolio of the biggest hotel group in the Czech Republic - CPI Hotels - participated in Hotels Night, a project in support of tourism in the capital city. The event, which the Czech Association of Hotels and Restaurants organised in co-operation with the Prague City Hall, Prague Castle and Prague City Tourism as an expression of thanks to the inhabitants of Prague, took place on Friday, 27 January 2017. The Vysočany Clarion was one of more than 70 hotels in Prague which on this day offered accommodation in a double room with breakfast to the inhabitants of the City of Prague for a symbolic price of CZK 777. 65 rooms were reserved in the hotel in this event.

The biggest Czech hotel group, CPI Hotels, has turned partner to the educational programme Culinary Arts (CA). The company’s hotels in the Czech Republic have undertaken to co-operate exclusively with secondary vocational schools, which guarantee the introduction of an educational programme on Culinary Arts principles. Teaching within this educational programme in the next three years shall also involve hotel chefs and their deputies. The company announced co-operation at the press conference under the subtitle Training of Cooks in Bohemia, version 2.0. In collaboration with the CA Project, Chef Jiří Roith should ensure the vital quality interlink of theoretical and practical training in schools and practice in hotels and restaurants, where the trainees get their first experience and shape their habits into future employment in the gastronomy industry. At present, the partnership has just accomplished its first month of full operation; from September, the first group of first-year students studying in this programme should get an opportunity to test their newly acquired experience at some of the hotels of the Clarion, Fortuna or Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague brands.

At the beginning of the summer tourist season, the Prague Clarion Congress Hotel Prague welcomed unusual guests. Four beehives, in which more than 60 thousand bees found a home, were ceremoniously placed on the roof of the seven-storey hotel. Hotel manager of the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Miroslav Bukva, Commercial Director Andrew Mark and the Principal Hotel Engineer Vladimir Sieber, who will be in charge of the beekeeping, stylishly toasted to the success of the future breeding with mead. “We have been thinking about the beekeeping and use-of-honey-for-our-own-purposes project for several years. Given the current situation of bee colonies in Prague, it was difficult to obtain the necessary permits from the State Veterinary Administration.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague in Vysočany was the venue for the 7th year of the two-day conference Equal Pay – “Ženy sobě” (Women to themselves), which is the largest of Czech events addressing the equality of employment opportunities for women and remuneration, personal development and motivation. The non-profit organization Business & Professional Women organized it under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The general partner of the conference, Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, had a representative on the main board, too. In the discussion “We work together, we cooperate”, Miroslav Bukva, hotel manager of the Clarion Congress Hotel, spoke.

The portfolio of the country’s largest hotel group, CPI Hotels, expanded as the group took over the Prague Marriott Executive Apartments V Tůních as of 1 January 2016. It has also been operating the Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest since the beginning of December. The hotels will expand the company’s four-star hotel operations. The Marriott Executive Apartments have been renamed Mamaison Hotel Downtown Prague and joined the Mamaison Hotels & Residences brand. The Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest is slated to join it at some point in the future.

Clarion Congress Hotel Prague held another event of the series “Baking with Clarion” for parentless children. The purpose of the project, held in cooperation with the Chance 4 Children Foundation, is not only an interesting weekend programme for children attending baking courses, but also a presentation of options for future employment in the hospitality industry. On the first week in June the hotel welcomed children from the Žatec Children’s Home and students of the First Private Czech Apprentice School of Prague – Hostivař.

The biggest celebration of Children’s Day in Prague 9, held in the nursery in Kovářská Street, was met with great interest by both children themselves and their parents. Nearly two hundred visitors enjoyed a party with an entertaining programme and lots of delicious meals. For a second time the main sponsor of the event was the nearby Clarion Congress Hotel at Vysočany, who offered visiting children refreshment stations with cotton candy, pancakes and ice cream. Adults could enjoy poultry goulash and hot coffee.

The meeting was opened by the manager of Clarion Hotel Prague City, Marina Zulueta, who welcomed guests in the new conference room, which was followed by a fashion and jewellery show of items from the workshop of Armenian artist Mariam Gharibyan.

All the members of the popular Czech band Kabát, including frontman Josef Vojtek, unveiled the new song dedicated to the Czech ice hockey team at the Clarion in Vysočany. The song “Brousíme nože” (We are sharpening our blades) from the forthcoming album with hockey lyrics from the workshop of Milan Špalek was also praised by Tomáš Král, President of the Czech Ice Hockey Association, and by winger Radek Smoleňák, who admitted that the band from the town of Teplice has a number of fans on the Czech ice hockey team.

CPI Hotels organised the 2nd annual Piazza d’Oro Espresso Cup competition for the best barista (bartender) of the group. The Imperial Hotel Ostrava, Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague, Mamaison Hotel Riverside Prague and 8 regional Clarion hotels, including the Clarion Congress Hotel in Vysočany, the venue of the competition, sent their representatives to the competition. An expert jury composed of the representatives of the gastronomy section of CPI Hotels and the co-organiser of the competition Douwe Egberts assessed two competition tasks – the preparation of a standard cappuccino and unrestricted coffee drinks made according to original recipes.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague has hosted many special and interesting guests in the past. On Wednesday night, however, the hotel experienced an extremely exclusive visit. The eighteen kilogram cup for the winner of the Ice Hockey World Championship could be seen there. The Ice Hockey World Championship will be played in May in Prague and Ostrava.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague hosted the 5th annual largest wedding trade fair in the Czech Republic on 16 – 17 January 2015. On an area of more than 3,000 m2, more than 140 exhibitors presented their complete lines of clothing, accessories and services for future newlyweds. They could choose from a wide selection of engagement rings, wedding dresses, flowers, decorations, wedding announcements, and the services of photographers and wedding coordinators. In addition to the opportunity to arrange a wedding for a lower trade fair price, visitors enjoyed a rich accompanying programme and thus gathered inspiration for their wedding during fashion shows for men’s and women’s wedding clothing and a mini concert of experienced wedding bands.

The final of the 11th annual Look Bella beauty contest took place in the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. The winners, out of 13 women and seven men who made it to the final from casting throughout the Czech Republic, were Markéta Martinkovičová and Jan Pippinger.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague threw a party for its corporate partners in the style of the Czech movie Slavnosti sněženek (Snowdrop Festivals). The hotel's managing director, Miroslav Bukva, started the meeting and invited the guests to a laser shooting range where everyone could try their hand at shooting and win interesting prizes.

After five years, the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague welcomed participants to an event called Friendly Places. Up to 1,000 people from 53 organizations participated in the Red Cross's Friendly Places project – guaranteeing barrier-free services, that gave rise to a national network of places where disabled and elderly people are guaranteed to be treated in a professional manner and with necessary services available.

To warn of the severity of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and to contribute financially to its research. That is the main goal of an international campaign ALS Ice Bucket Challenge of which the Internet has informed the whole world. The idea of the Ice Bucket Challenge came from the USA; to fulfil the challenge participants pour ice-cold water over themselves, which should evoke a similar feeling of muscle stiffness that patients with ALS suffer from.

The 9th year of the competition King of Wine 2014 culminated in Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. The ceremonial Representative King's Tasting was held there as winemakers received their awards and certificates from the hands of the competition organiser Branko Černý. The winner was "Ryzlink vlašský 2013", ice wine from the wine-growing area of Tanzberg Mikulov. The event was supported by the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic and held under the auspices of Prague 9 mayor Jan Jarolím.

Greatly appreciated by children and their parents, the Kindergarten at Kovářská Street in Prague 9 launched a celebration of International Children's Day. Nearly two hundred visitors could not be discouraged by rainy and cold weather from enjoying a great party with entertainment and a lot of great food. The Clarion Congress Hotel based at Vysočany, a partner to this event, prepared a refreshment kiosk with candy floss, a selection of ice cream and pancakes for which children could choose whichever topping they wanted. Adults enjoyed a poultry goulash and warmed themselves up with hot coffee.
